EDITOR & ASSOCIATE PUBLISHER
PROJECTS I'M PARTICULARLY FOND OF
One of my favorite things about this career has been creating new magazines from scratch to meet a need in the markets I've served, building a new brand or brand extension from the ground up! I have loved brainstorming, networking, leading and launching these many new titles through the years...
-
Taking over and re-launching 360 West Weddings in Fort Worth, Texas
-
Arkansas Next: MONEY
-
TEACH Arkansas
-
Arkansas Next: PROS – an extremely profitable new publication educating Arkansas students on careers in booming skilled trades and technical professions.
-
MS Works – an extremely profitable new publication educating Mississippi students on careers in booming skilled trades and technical professions.
-
Arkansas: Love Where You Live — a beautiful, nationally circulated recruitment piece for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and Arkansas Tourism. Inspiring relocation, retirement, and career moves to Arkansas. (Debuts November 2019)
-
Arkansas Bride re-brand: I was the driving force behind Arkansas Bride's re-brand. I initiated and oversaw the entire process. I'm proud of the new look, the new editorial we added to complement the new design, and the website overhauls made to match. The response has been tremendous. In fact, the four issues since the re-brand were our best-selling editions in the magazine's 25-year history.
-
FIT Arkansas: In 2016, we debuted a new health and wellness magazine in Arkansas—the first of its kind in the state. The magazine is built around the workout section, which spotlights 15 unique local exercise options and sports that readers can choose to get in shape. We also address the topics of nutrition, mind/body wellness, health/medicine, fitness style and gear. It was so well received—and ad revenue so great—that we made it a biannual in 2017.
-
Living in Arkansas re-design: In 2015, I pitched a re-design and re-structure to Living in Arkansas, the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism's relocation and retirement publication. Not only did they love my ideas, they approved all of them. That initial issue and all subsequent editions have solidified our relationship with the Department of Parks & Tourism, who has since renewed their contract with us.
